The project “Musical Metaverse made in Europe: An innovation lab for musicians and audiences of the future” (MUSMET) is funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC) under the EIC Pathfinder Open scheme of the European Union.
The MUSMET project aims to develop an innovative platform that enables real-time audio synchronization, regardless of the location of performers and audiences. This will allow musicians performing live and virtually to play together without perceptible latency, addressing one of the most significant technological challenges in online music performance today.
This solution will be based on:
- State-of-the-art audio transmission technologies, designed to minimize latency between performers and audiences.
- New concert formats, seamlessly integrating live music with virtual experiences.
- Research on sound perception, ensuring that the technology aligns with the natural way humans experience music.
With MUSMET, sound will reach all listeners simultaneously, whether they are attending a live concert, listening from home, or experiencing music in virtual reality. This breakthrough has the potential to revolutionize the way we experience music, unlocking new possibilities for both artists and audiences.
